Good Things Foundation is proud to partner with Openreach for the Openreach: Digital Place 2020/21 programme.
We will be working with 20 Online Centres in specific areas of the UK to support socially excluded people through free face-to-face support and online learning. This support and training will help more people to get online and make the most of the digital tools modern life increasingly depends on.
Openreach runs the UK's digital network. They connect homes, mobile phone masts, schools, shops, banks, hospitals, libraries, broadcasters, governments and businesses – large and small – to phone, broadband and data services. It's their mission to build the best possible network with the highest quality of service, and make sure that everyone in the UK can be connected.
Openreach understands that having good connectivity and access to the internet isn’t enough to ensure that social and economic benefits are realised. People of all ages in communities across the country need to be equipped with the digital skills necessary to ensure that they can make the most of new technology – to support their children with their homework, to establish and grow their businesses or to access vital services that are increasingly online.
This programme will support individuals in learning these digital skills.
