DigiKnow: Join the Movement.

Say hello to DigiKnow - a network of community groups, organisations and individuals, working to support people in Stockport to gain digital skills and confidence.

Across Stockport, 50,000 adults still lack the basic digital skills they need to participate in today’s world. People who are offline are missing out on all the benefits the internet can provide, from helping them to find work, to saving money and keeping in touch with friends and family.

With the introduction of Universal Credit across Stockport later this year, leaving nobody behind when it comes to digital has never been more important.

Stockport Council and leading social change charity Good Things Foundation - alongside Starting Point, Stockport Homes and The Prevention Alliance, are working together on DigiKnow, a programme for digital inclusion across Stockport. As part of this programme, we’re creating the DigiKnow Network - a network of existing community groups and organisations, alongside individuals, working to support people in their communities to gain digital skills and confidence.

"Digital inclusion is about having the access, skills and motivation to confidently go online to access the opportunities of the internet."

DCMS, Digital Skills and Inclusion Policy, 2017

We're recruiting organisations in Stockport to the DigiKnow Network. If you’re supporting communities in Stockport, we’d love to have you on board.

Join the DigiKnow Network and you’ll have access to a number of benefits, including membership of the Online Centres Network, and the following:

Starting Point, the DigiKnow Community Ambassador, will be working with all members of the network on the ground to coordinate all of these opportunities, share their own expertise, and more.

All support is free, we only ask that you build digital inclusion into your core services, supporting members of the community to get online, and report to us on a monthly basis (using an easy online tool) how many people you support to improve their digital skills and confidence.

Our materials for advertising to learners have 'empty belly' spaces that DigiKnow Centres can add details to, such as their address and dates and times of digital skills sessions. The leaflets and the poster can be placed in different locations, such as community centres, local shops, doctor surgeries and more. You can also use the JPEGs on any screens you may have for advertising or on social media.

For any questions regarding these marketing materials, please do get in touch with Sam Taylor on sam@goodthingsfoundation.org, and do keep an eye out for a downloadable appointment card coming soon.
